I run eight fitness studios, and I build the software that runs them.

Multi-unit franchise owner. Former J.P. Morgan finance and controls. I build AI-powered tools that replace manual spreadsheets for P&L, payroll and daily operations, for my own business and for other multi-unit operators.

The numbers live in too many places

Multi-unit owners share the same problem. The numbers that matter live in spreadsheets, disconnected apps and managers' heads. Every month someone rebuilds the same reports by hand. By the time a problem shows up in cash, it has been building for months.

What I've built

II.

Portfolio IQ

An operating platform used by managers across all eight of my studios. Sales funnel analytics, approval controls, freeze and cancel retention tracking, manager accountability and ticketing.

For multi-location staff. Shows what is being paid, what is driving it, and how it compares with the average, before payroll is approved.

Built and running in my own business. I build the same kind of tools for other multi-unit operators, shaped around their systems and their numbers.

Pre-Payroll Review

P&L Analytics

Loads the monthly P&L spreadsheets every owner already has. Shows trends by location, the biggest month-over-month movers, and this year against last year side by side.

How I build

I decide what the tools must do, direct AI to build them, and run it like a controlled process.

Code review before anything changes.

One change at a time.

Staged testing before anything goes live.

Approval gates and the ability to roll back.

Controls are built in: approval rules, self-approval tracking, duplicate prevention, month-end locks and audit trails.

The hard part isn't the code. It's knowing exactly what the business needs, and catching when the software gets it wrong.

Built by an operator, not a slide deck

I’m Alan Damashek. I’ve worked on both sides of this: as a multi-unit franchise owner, and as a finance and reporting leader at a global bank.

Operator. Since 2015 I’ve opened and run 8 Orangetheory Fitness studios across Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, growing to about 100 staff across locations. In 2019 I was named Franchisee of the Year after launching 5 studios in 4 states within a single year.

Finance and reporting. Before that, I spent years at J.P. Morgan. As VP of Global Credit Risk Reporting & Finance, I led a 15-person team and cut monthly report production from 3 weeks to 1 by streamlining workflows and adding controls. I also helped launch operations for an internal pension advisory business, formalizing workflows for P&L calculations, settlements, and performance reporting.

What I built for my own portfolio. Running multiple locations meant the same back-office tasks every pay period, so I automated them:

  • Payroll reports exported for each location and converted to clean Excel files organized by location and pay period

  • Membership and customer reports merged across all locations into one view

  • A single master list of staff, locations, and pay tiers that the rest of the reporting uses as its source of truth

Damo Holdings brings the same approach to other multi-unit operators: practical, built around the tools you already have, and focused on the work your team repeats.
